Twitter is Everywhere

After recently attending MinneWebCon and last night, attending the (1st ever) IgniteMpls conference, I can see the hype over Twitter isn't all talk. While it's easily debatable how useful most of the Twittering and celebrity stalking going on with Twitter, there's one positive use of Twitter that I'm really liking.
At each conference, Twitter becomes an instant, on-the-fly group forum. A tag is decided upon, such as #mwc09 or #ignitempls, and then everyone in attendance starts sending feedback to each other as the conference is taking place. Sure, some of it is garbage, but even then, it's fun. If the speaker mentions a product or website, the URL shows up almost instantly in the Tweets. Ideas and reactions are shared in almost real-time. It's the first time I see real value in having this service. And it's the final straw pushing me to finally get an iPhone. Can't bring my laptop everywhere. Oh, and I'm @minneapolisdan , if you're interested.
